Deep Purple split in 1976.The first fruits of Glenn’s post Purple career appeared with ‘Play Me Out’ (also available on Purple Records), issued in July 1977. Glenn would go on to collaborate with Pat Thrall in Hughes-Thrall, Joe Lynn Turner in the Hughes-Turner Project, with Tony Iommi in Black Sabbath, plus pursue a prolific solo career through the 1990s and beyond.Glenn’s fourth solo album, ‘Feel’, was originally released in 1995, and finds the singer veering towards more pop, soul and funk sounds rather than the hard rock. Former Guns n’ Roses and Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum guests, and the album also sees a welcome collaboration with his Hughes-Thrall partner, Pat Thrall.‘Addiction’ (1996) was originally released in 1996, and unlike the more soulful pop of ‘Feel’, it saw the singer returning to a much harder rocking sound. ‘The Way It Is’ (1999) was produced by Glenn and Michael Scott, as well as featuring original material written with guitarist JJ Marsh.
